Challenge Heaven August Challenge : Number

Here's my lo for Challenge Heaven August number challenge!
You had to use 3 pp's, 3 cs, 3 circles & 3 pics.

I used Fancy Pants (Rough & Tough - Strips & Dude), October Afternoon (Night Light - Katie) & Basic Grey (Basics - Blueline) pp's, Kraft cs, chip circle, paint, pom-pom trim, Shagpile button, Chip Chop Shop doily & DMC thread.

Sooooo here's my lo : )

I used a toothbrush & acrylic paint, which I diluted with water, and splattered it over chip letters to create the title....

I used some pp and a chip circle to highlight one of the photos. I Matted the photos on a shape I cut from pp then halved. For texture I stitched around the pp.....

I matted a half circle on cs for my journalling. I then added a doily which I sewed a button on, a big fabric button, some folded pp & pom pom trim......

Thankyou very much indeedy for checking out my blog!!

Scrappers Challenge Group (The BOXX): My example LO for setting a challenge

This week my scrapping mojo seems to have taken a holiday! I have tried to make lo's but end up binning them....sooooo frustrating!! Last  night my mojo came back yay!! I finally made a lo that I am happy with (although not super thrilled). I won the last Scrappers Challenge group challenge so it's my job to set the next challenge : ) Here is the lo I made for it......

I've used Fancy Pants (On a Whimsy-Fresh Air), Basic Grey (Sarsaprilla & Cupcake-Celebrate) & Sassafras (Cherry Delicious - Penelope) PP's. Thickers, felt, DMC thread, Buzz & Bloom chip border, October Afternoon (Night Light) rub-ons & monster die-cut, Chip Chop Shop button, masking tape & ribbon.

Embellishments.....another flower made by me.....the chip chop shop button is soooo lubbly jubbly! Cute little October Afternoon monster!

Title with a bit of doodling to make it pop!

I matted the photo on felt which I hand stitched a border on : )

My journalling....I love writing journalling randomly on white space on my lo....and I love drawing my own lines to write it on...makes it look funky : )

I painted and doodled around the circle to give it a bit of somthin somthin!!

Thanks so much for having a squizz at my lo : )

Challenge Heaven August Challenge : Song

Welllllll here's yet another Challenge Heaven challenge. This one is a song challenge....The criteria is use "we are Family" and a scalloped border on a lo.
Sooooo here's my take on the challenge. I thought instead of using one family photo I would use individual photos of us all. I used Basic Grey Cupcake (celebrate & pinata) & Offbeat (carefree) pp's. The Chip Chop Shop doiles, Shagpile (Etsy Store) fabric button, moda fabric, Buzz & Bloom chipboard, Thickers, Adornit Carolees Creation tiny alphas, B&M twine, DMC thread, masking tape and felt......

I obviously have a thing for these flowers....No lo escapes having one hehe. This one has a GORGEOUS Shagpile vintage fabric button on it : )

Here's the other flower.....The doilies are from The Chip Chop Shop Etsy store!

Here's is the first part of the title. I sewed some moda fabric on and then cut some chipboard into a square popped the title on, drew a border around and voila!! a cute title : )

With the second part of the title I put some masking tape over the pp. Then used thickers for the title....then drew around them to make them pop!

For the scalloped border I used some Buzz & Bloom border corners. I sprayed one with glimmer mist and wrapped bothed with B&M twine to give them a bit of texture!

Thanks so very mychly for having a peek at my LO : )

Chocolate ice-cream is Heaven : )

Welllllll not much scrapping going on for the last couple of days!
My hubby has got a cold and conjunctivitis (ewwww.....not pretty, not pretty at all) so have been performing my wifely duties martha stewert style.....well as much as one can....that lady is too perfect if ya ask me hehe.
I've made chicken soup, cooked a hearty dinner, made copious amounts of honey & lemon tea and have made lot's of "oh you poor thing" and "is there anything I can get" comments.......with the odd "that looks gross....your eyes are pretty puffy" thrown in.......
Soooo I am currentley sitting down with a bowl of brownie fudge obsession ice-cream (Oh how heavenly it is) and actually REALAXING (quite a foreign term for a mother to use).

I would also like to send out LOT's of Love and Peace to all of the wonderful ladies who have joined my blog and left awesome comments : )
It has sooooo made my week!!!
I can't believe how awesome it is to share the love of scrapping with other scrappy peoples!

Anyhoo......can't let my ice-cream melt....
Tallyho!

Challenge Heaven August Challenge : Sketch

I did this LO last night for Challenge Heavens August Sketch challenge. I think this LO has a 'kiddy' vibe : )
I used Cosmo Cricket (garden variety - strawberry fields & bloomers), October Afternoon (fly a kite - lemonade) & Sassafrass (serendipity - happy place) pp's. Cosmo Cricket chip alphas in 'licorice' & Sassafras (apple sweet treat) sticker. Plus masking tape, white paint, bubble wrap, felt, string crochete flower, buttons & staples.

For embellishments I once again staples a folded strip of pp. I used bubble wrap painted white and layered it with a Sassafras sticker, felt circle and button for big embelly. For the little embelly I used a litlle doily and layered it with a Sassafras sticker and a button!

More doodling....can't seem to do a page without doodling hehe I used masking tape to attach it to the pp.

I once again used masking tape....this time to make a journalling block!

Challenge Heaven August Challenge : Word

This is my LO for the Challange Heaven August word challenge. The criteria was use the word 'two' and a banner/bunting. I really have been thinking about Elijah growing up so fast lately so I wanted to do a LO that reflected my feelings about that. I kept it simple as it was the sentiment I wanted to shine through : ) I used My Minds Eye (quite contrary), Cosmo Cricket (earth love), October Afternoon (night light - Katie) & The Girls Paperie (on holiday) pp's. Basic grey brads. Bazzil Kraft CS and I got the little pegs from an Ebay shop called Brads & Beyond.....

So here is my LO......nice and simple : )

Made two flowers from tiny doilies, distressed paper circles & buttons. I attached those to folded paper that I stapled to some corrugated cardboard.

The photo is made to look like it's hanging on a washing line (which I hope counts as a bunting/banner).

And here's the most important part of this page.....the journalling. It explains the sentiment of the photo and the title "Two Pegs"

Thankyou so much for having a gander at my LO : )

Challenge Heaven August Challenge : Themed

Here is my first go at a Challenge Heaven challenge! This is one of the August challenges "Themed". Criteria is a 'pulling face' pic, bright pp and a circle. I have used Basic Grey (june bug) & Sassafras (anthem) pp's, Basic Grey ducky sticker & Sassafras numbers & journal block stickers. Alphas are Thickers.

So here is my Darling son......with his finger up his nose......yup thats my boy........

I made some flower embelly's for this layout. I cut out different pp's and fabric circles in different sizes, distressed the edges, crinkled them up to give them texture then finished off by sewing a button in the centre!

I didn't like the star's punched in the chip bracket (made by A2Z Scraplets) so I wrapped so string around it and stapled......simple : )

Leanne Pearce has really inspired me when it come to doodling.....now I've started I can't stop!!
Here I painted around the pp circle then drew a black outline around it....and hey presto a cute border : )

Thanks for having a wee look : ) Love and Peace!

Lo for The Boxx "Scrappers Challenge # 4"

Scrappers Challenge # 4 : Boy/Masculine page, min 1 flower, rhinestones, paint & at least 1 element/tool that we don't often use.

Well here's My take on the Challenge. It's called "Big Mack, Little Mack". I called it this as I wanted to do a layout that referenced our last name 'Mackenzie'. I used all Basic Grey pp's (June bug, Basics, Max & Whiskers). The tartan print pp was a great match as our last name is Scottish!! The hardly used tool I used was 2 punches....One for border of tartan and another for date circle.

Here is a close up of my handmade flowers. For the big flower I drew spots on a plain paper flower then outlined spots in black. I then cut a circle, distressed the edges and scrunched it up to give it texture. I attached the circle to the flower then place a button, which I threaded with string, in the centre to finish it off! For the smaller flower I twisted a length of masking tape then rolled it in a spiral to make a flower. I then attached a but, which I threaded with string, to the centre!

Here is where I used the rhinestones. I am LOVING masking tape at the moment so had to use that. Love my stapled ribbons too. Also used another masking tape rolled flower : )

And lastly a bit off doodling as the corner was calling out for me to "pretty" it up : )

Thanks for taking the time to have a sticky beak! Love and Peace : )
