Challenge Me Baby!!

Howdy Ladies : )

Wow, I must admit my blog has been rather neglected lately! I guess I am just trying to find that ever elusive balance between being a mummy, having family time, doing chores, making lot's of new bit's for Rainbows & Whimsy (YES I will be opening soon with lots of new goodies!!) & having time for hobbies!

I am so happy to be back in the scrappy groove, definitely am up for doing some challenges!!

When I saw this months Sketch Challenge at Punky Scraps, I knew I just HAD to give it a go!!! I just cannot resist a moustache. The FABULOUS Nat designed it.....You ROCK Nat : )

I have once again dug into my HUGE my2angels stash. Tracy is so good to me, even though she wasn't getting the Echo Park - Times and Seasons collection in store, she was kind enough to order a collection pack from her supplier for me! So a big THANKS to you Miss T!

I popped a moustache sticker on a cute Felt Boy.....I think he looks rather dapper. I'm loving the Imaginarium Chipboard Tracy has got in recently. I used the Swirly Frame, which I painted with gesso then inked with Distress Ink - Broken China, then embossed with Distress Powder - Broken China. Lastly I swiped over it with some Distress Stain - Peeled Paint. I painted both the Camera Charm & the Antique Silver Circle Pendant with Glimmer Glaze - oil Slick. The Manila Tag was painted with gesso then swiped over with Distress Stain - Peeled Paint.

All of my layouts seem to have a Scalloped Felt Frame (I cut them up to use as borders) & Spotted Acrylic Buttons (Green & Black). Do you have products that you re-visit time and time again?
I'm also digging the Plaid Fabric Brads and of course another must have.....Twine!!!

Well there you have it folks!!

Stay tuned for an announcement next week........ooooooo what could it be.....

She is the Tweetest!

Happy Monday Ladies!

I must admit I'm rather enjoying this girly layout thing.....so much so that I have another one to share!

My my2angels stash doesn't seem to be getting any smaller......in fact I thinks it's getting bigger......Darn you Tracy for getting in gorgeous new stock all the time!!!

I've used the delightful Basic Grey - Kissing Booth range again.....I really love it! I made my own mist by mixing a few drops of Tea Dye Reinker & a little water in a Inkssentials Mini Mister. I used a doily as a mask and sprayed over it. All the stitching on the layout is done by separating the red from the white twine (Maraschino Bakers Twine), and stitching with the red twine.....I like the texture of it better than the usual old dmc thread!

Now, because I like to do things the hard way.....I made the "rosette" by cutting strips of paper, punched strips with a border punch, took a century and a half to score lines on the strips, folded then stuck together, then inked around the edge with Tea Dye Distress Ink. To save yourself the effort (and you're sanity) you could also use a Tim Holtz Rosette Die. If you do not have a die machine, just ask Tracy to cut a couple of strips of whatever paper you've purchased and she will happily oblige.....honest!!! I've also Layered a Kraft Tag # 5 and a piece of a White Scalloped Edge Felt Frame.

I'm digging using lot's of flowers....good times......good times....
I've painted a Scrapware Doily Frame with a Paint Dabber - Snow Cap White, which I also swiped over the Self Adhesive Rhinestone Circle that I stuck to the frame. After that was dry I then went over it with Distress Stain - Peeled Paint.
I've altered a Silver Oval Frame with Bow Charm by painting it with my trusty Paint Dabber - Snow White, then painting over with Glimmer Glaze - Paradise pink then added some detail with a black pen.

Here I've Layered a Red and White Spotted Acrylic Button, a Pink Rose & a Black Bird on a Swing Charm, which I've painted with my Paint Dabber - Snow White then painted again with Glimmer Glaze - Cowboy. I've tied the charm with some Green and White Baker's Twine

The Alphas I've used are Foam Thickers - Daiquiri Green & Webster's Pages Alpha Stickers.

Thankyou SO SO SO much for visiting my blog. Reading the comments makes me so happy and gives me a little spring in my step!

Love and Peace xox

Want to line up at the Kissing Booth.....

Goooood Friday : )

I hope everyone has had a marvellous week.....and here's to a even more marvellous weekend!

I am happy to announce.....MY MOJO IS BACK!!! wooohoooo!!! For the better (or worse) part of 6ish months I have just had a total creative burnout, I think I was so daunted by how awesomely creative everyone is and really struggled to be happy with and understand my "style". Also we had soooooo much happening last year in this house, getting sick all the time, things breaking down.....starting up my wee business, that I really struggled with trying to "fit" it all in. So I took a little break, a few thousand deep breathes, grew happy with my "style"......and well gained back the mojo. Thanks Tracy (and everyone else) for being patient!!!

Ok on to SCRAPPING.....

my2angels (once again) has sent me some new papers to play with......Helloooooooo Basic Grey - Kissing Booth.......
I am really digging this range.....It's not often I get to use pink & be all girly : )

As well as the Kissing Booth, I have also added some Sassafras Lass Foldies & Starters paper as well as Some yummy Hambly Screen Prints - Birds on Wire overlay
I created the background by machine stitching the backside of the "kiss" paper (which I trimmed to 11 x 11) to Kraft Cardstock. I then took the top of my Paint Dabber - Snow Cap White and tipped some paint out, which I spread onto my page with an old credit card. I then sprayed Tattered Angels Glimmermist - Turquoise Blue over a Crafters Workshop - Tile Texture template. I toned down the colour by going over the whole background with Tim Holtz Distress Stain - Picket Fence. Lastly I splattered Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze - Paradise Pink randomly over the background.

How yummy are the Kraft Tags!! I machine stitched around the tag then swiped the edges with my Paint Dabber - Snow cap White. Oh and OF COURSE I once again chopped up a White Scalloped Edge Felt Frame to layer under my photo.

I HEART Layering : )
Layered with the foldies are a Large White Rose, Hot Pink 2cm Rose, White Lilly, Aqua Blue Pearls
Heart Pin and my FAVE charm ever.....Coloured Daisy Charm. Can you see the Silver Rhinestone Self Adhesive Square that I've layered? I've lightly swiped over it with my Paint Dabber - Snow Cap White.

More Foldies with a Silver Brass Round Filigree which I have swiped over with my Paint Dabber - Snow Cap white, a CUTE AS CAN BE Black and White Spot Acrylic Button, more Aqua Blue Pearls and a Pink Rose.

And there ye have it......one pink and girly layout : ) Isn't me niece Lilly the CUTEST lil munchkin ever!
